“Local History” magazine | Crimea

I had the pleasure of working with Local History magazine on the cover of the issue about the Crimean Peninsula.

2024 marks 80 years since the Stalin Soviet regime deported the indigenous people of Crimea, Crimean Tatars, from their land. Many years since the majority of Crimean Tatars came back home. However, in 2014 the Russian Federation occupied Crimea, repressing and driving many Crimean Tatars out of the peninsula yet again.

I wanted to dedicate the cover illustration to the moment when Crimean Tatars and Ukraine would come back to Crimea for good and make it prosper.
